Film Pitch
Pitch title: Love vs. Hatred
Target Audience: 15+
Logline: A reluctant son seeks vengeance from a powerful mafia boss for the murder of his
father.
Narrative:Little Italy, 1932. As a child Johnny (Leonardo DiCaprio) witnessed his father gunned down in a dark alley by Don Gambino’s (Willem Dafoe) men and was promised revenge when older by Don Lucchese (Al Pacino) (Rival of the Gambino family). After nine years have passed,
a 21 year old Johnny, now a respected member of the Luchesse Family is ready to seek revenge. However, his revenge is halted as he falls for the beautiful Serafina (Natalie Portman), clueless that she is the daughter of Don Gambino. When Johnny finds out it forces him to make a decision of whether to choose love or hatred which leads to tragic consequences.
The selling points are Sin City for the mise-en-scene and the color work being used, Romeo and Juliet for the similar storyline and The Godfather for the mafia families, time and place it is taken in. Also, I've chosen this cast to be in my movie because they are well known around the world especially to teenage audiences 15 and above. They will make my movie appeal greatly as most of the actors have been part of very successful movies.
